Takeaways from the 2011 Masters Conference- Washington, D.C.

  
  
  

The 2011 Masters Conference in Washington, DC provided over 20 panels on a range of topics throughout the three day event. Popular topics included eDiscovery best practices, social media, cloud computing, electronic devices and privacy issues, and other litigation trends.

Masters ConferenceA panel that stood out to attendees was the one that brought together six of the world’s foremost Early Case Assessment thought leaders from the U.S. and the UK. The panel was entitled: Early Case Assessment; is it working?

Saving time and money, all while improving litigation outcomes are stated benefits from utilizing effective Early Case Assessment (ECA). This panel of experts looked at ECA, both from the angle of what is working and what is not. Several members of the panel also emphasized on cloud devices and the future of ECA technology.  

Speakers were Steve Akers, founder of Digital Reef, William Belt Jr. of LeClairRyan, Shawnna Childress of Women in eDiscovery, Michelle Briggs of Goodwin Procter, Chris Dale of the eDisclosure Information Project, and Browning Marean of DLA piper. The variety of backgrounds represented really gave the audience a look at Early Case Assessment from all angles, and provided for very insightful conversation
